Noelani told Ms. Esme, "An Ares kid started it!" Then the same Ares kid scoffed and said, "I did not!" Ms. Esmeralda (she assumed it was her first name) said, "Noelani, go straight to the Oracle of Delphi. She shall offer you some advice, but in a riddle." Noelani visited the Oracle, who was breathing green smoke and had glowing eyes. The Oracle said in a voice raspier than her gran`s, "You shall go on a journey to stop the king, You shall not let the birds of poison sting. You shall be met by the goddess of nets, by then you`ll be able to reform the best." The Oracle extended her withered hand that revealed a lockpick and a map. The Oracle said, still in her trance, "This was given to my mother a long time ago. She told me a great hero, greater than Hercules, would need this." Noelani grabbed the lockpick and map using the ballet moves her gym teacher taught her and left. Samantha and Bianca were waiting outside and said in unison, "What have you got, Noelani?" Noelani got her lockpick and map and said, "A lockpick and a map." Samantha said, "Strange, but I think we`ll be needing it." Bianca said, "She`s right. Although I`m a pacifist, I`ll help you in this quest. Also, back at your old school, did you have some pretty snobbish classmates? BECAUSE I`D LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU WANNA FAIL THIS QUEST OR SUCCEED?" Samantha explained, "She has bipolar disorder meaning that she has a mental illness that brings severe high and low moods and changes in sleep, energy, thinking, and behavior. People who have bipolar disorder can have periods in which they feel overly happy and energized and other periods of feeling very sad, hopeless, and sluggish." Noelani said, "I know some treatments for bipolar disorder, and why don`t you treat her disorder?" Sam said, "I keep taking her to daily therapy sessions with the children of Pasithea, the goddess of meditation, and weekly sessions with the children of Asclepius, the god of medicine, but it doesn`t work." Noelani said, "I can contact a psychotherapist, ask the Asclepius kids for medications, or recommend a day treatment program." Sam said, "No, ma cherie, we`ve tried to treat her, but we couldn`t." Noelani said, "Huh, so she couldn`t be cured. No wonder her mood keeps changing and Samantha, why whenever I mention your father or ask what`s your last name, you blush and cannot articulate any coherent words or speak in a melancholy tone?" Sam said, "Darling, that`s not important." Noelani said, "Dude, protrude your stingers so we can get outta here!" Sam said, "Fine." Sam protruded her stingers and her bee wings, which came from her shirt. She dug and dug and dug and dug until she hit the ceiling. Sam said, "I made a hole in the ceiling!" Noelani said, "Anyone got a rope?" Bianca said, "I have one! BUT I`M STILL NOT HELPING YOU!" Noelani snatched her rope and swung out the hole and breathed the fresh air in. People were gathered around the hole and one of them called a construction worker and Samantha said, "Dearies, a proper lady always makes sure her clothes aren`t soiled."
Noelani said, "You might need a little tact because we ain`t ladies. We`re heroes." Bianca said, "Thanks for explaining it to us! I adored it! NOT!"
Noelani facepalmed herself and said, "Ay-yi-yi." Bianca said, "My nails are burning. I`ll go extinguish it." Noelani asked, "Does she have control of her disorder?" Sam said while examining her nails, "Darling, yes, although most of the time she doesn`t. The way she controls her disorder`s like an on-and-off machine. Sometimes she has control of it, sometimes she doesn`t." Noelani said, "Ohhhh. Also, you need a little tact, dude." Samantha said while buffing her nails and applying lipstick casually, "A lady never responds to such uncouth words, dearie." Noelani said, "Seriously, Samamakeup?" Samantha said while applying lip gloss, "Excuse me? Dearie, a lady never gets treated with such disrespect, and also, your shoelaces are tied into conspicuously unruly square knots." Noelani asked, "You`re applying lip balm now." Samantha said, "I always apply lip balm when I get annoyed." Mostly about beauty issues, Noelani thought and started applying lip stain. Samantha said, "Lip stain is a faux pas, dearie. It`s not pretty and makes you look like you have unnatural lip colors." Noelani said, "Sheesh." Samantha said, "Hop on my back."
Noelani noticed some birds who were shooting their feathers. "What are those, dude?" she said. Sam said while applying lip liner and teal eyeshadow, "Stymphalian birds. According to Greek mythology, Stymphalian birds have sharp silver beaks that can tear through flesh. They also have the ability to use their feathers like arrows, being able to shoot them down at their prey from above. Also, their meat is nutritious." Sam tossed a brass bell to Noelani. Noelani said, "What do I do?" Sam said, "Ring the bell! Trust me, this will help you."
Noelani rang the bell and said, "Horrible." Sam said, Once they`re dead, shoot them." Noelani kept ringing and ringing, and the birds flew away. Noelani grabbed arrows from her quiver and shot at random birds. By the time they were all dead, Noelani told her, "You`re applying lipstick now." Samantha said, "Dearie, ladies always put lip liner before lipstick. It`s called refinement." Noelani said, "Sammy, no makeup!" Samantha said, "Dora the Explorer is a very uncouth show, darling."
